Qualche cosa di veramente nobile e alto doveva esserci in lui. A molti la sua personalità è apparsa enigmatica. Ma l'oscu­rità è dovuta alla sua opera incompiuta. La sua fu la sorte dei precursori. Ed è con la luce dell'oggi che bisogna irraggiare l'animo e l'opera di questo sincero amico dell'Italia.
