Italian Historical lieviews: At the solicitation of severa! members of oui Division, the Executive Secretary requested Professor Ghisalberti to inqnire into the possibility of securing subscriplions to other Italian historical reviows at reduced ratea. In bis réply Professor Ghisalberti informed him thal the Nuova Rivista Storica did not even acknowledge the reccipt of tris inquiry. The Archivio Storico Italiano (Dr. Canterani) will grant a ten per cent reduction to our mem­bers, iluit is 3,150 lire in lieu of 3,500 lire. The subscription rate in foreign couniries is 7.00. The Rivista Storica Italiana offers our members the special subscription rate of 2,500 lire per year.
Reception: I know tliat I am voicing the unanimous opinion of the emiro nienibership in expressing our grateful appreciation to Professor Filippo Donini, the Director of the Cultural Office of the Italian Embassy, for bis kindness and graciousness in tendering a reception in honor of our members al the Italian Consulate General in New York City on Satnrday, December 26tb, 1957.
Gift front the Cultural Attaché of the Italian Embassy: At the suggestion of the Executive Secretary, Professor Donini has obtained from lite Italian Govern­ment Information Service a supply of a recent 350-page volume entitled Ten Years of Italian Democracy: 1946-1956 for distributi on with his complimento to our mem­bers. The volume contains a wealth of general and stati sii cai information on Italy and its economie and cultural development, togetlier with useful references and addresses. Again our deep appreciation goes to Professor Donini.
America Italy Society: The American Division is grateful to the America Italy Society for having seenred from the Max Ascoli Fumi a travel grant which has facilitated the participalion of Professor Rossi Doria in this meeting.
Correspondence: There has been considcrable correspondence with Professor Ghisalberti, his staff, and with members of the American Division on matters rclated to our activities or to research projeets. Letters of introduction were given to members who visited Italy during the year.
Our third Annual Meeting will be held at Washington, D. C. in conjunction with the 73rd annual meeting of the American Historical Association and the other historical societies who meet annually with the parent organization.
In closing, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to ali who in one way or another have helped the American Division during the year. My special gra-titude goes to President Greenfield, Professore Salomone, Hughes, and Case who have been most helpful and cooperative .
