MACERATA. Sa iniziativa del nostro Comitato il presidente dell'Istituto ha commemorato il 26 febbraio u. s.. nel salone dell'Eneide del Palazzo Bnonaccorsi, lo storico maceratese Domenico Spadoni.

MILANO. - Il 20 novembre 1971 si è tenuta l'assemblea dei soci del Comitato per l'elezione del consiglio direttivo; gli eletti si sono riuniti il 26 novembre per la distribuzione delle cariche sociali. Sono stati nominati: prof. Federico Caroto, presi­dente; aw. Emilio Gnirriardi e prof. Giulia Bologna, vicepresidenti; rag. Giuseppe Isnago, segretario tesoriere; dott. Giampaolo Antonioli. prof. Elena Larsimont Perga­mena membri effettivi, e ha aggregato al Consiglio: prof. Franco Valsecchi, gen. Giuseppe Tbellung de Courtelary, prof. dott. Emilio Sioli Legnani, aw. Maurizio Belloni, prof. Angelo Ara, prof. Gianfranco Bianchi.
Il prof. Angelo Ara ha parlato il 26 febbraio n. s. su Nazionalità e naziona­lismi nell'Europa delle Potenze (1870-1918) .

NEW YORK. - Diamo il verbale della seduta annuale della Society for Italian HistoTÌcal Studies, svoltasi a New York City U 28 dicembre 1971:
< The Annual Meeting of the Society for Italian Historical Studies was called to order at 4:50 p. DL, Decomber 28, 1971, in Room 504 of the New York Ililton Hotel, New York Gity. About thirty-five members were present.
President Felix Gilbert reported on the serious illness of Vice-President Howard R. Marraro. This illness bas forced Professor Marraro to withdraw from the succession to the Presidency of the Society. President Gilbert expressed his certainty that the entire merabership of our Society wished Professor Marraro a complete recovery and greetings for the coming year. President Gilbert's exprcssion of regard was ap-proved unanimously.
The Executive Secretary-Treastirer then presented bis annual repori. The So­ciety bad 169 members during the calendar year 1971, the highest in ita history. There are stili many potential members who bave not joined, especinlly among spe-rialists in the Medieval and Renaissance periods. Members were urged to recruit rnterested scholars and suhmit snggestions for attracting them to our organization.
On Derember 27, 1971, there was 1.685.10 in the checkmg account. The latter figure includea subscriptions received in the previous three weeks. Members who bave not yet paid their subscriptions for 1972 were urged to do so. Inflation is stili Jeading to increaeed subscription ratea for Italian journals and the devaluation of the American dollar will mise the cosi somewhal more. Complaints continue about slow and erralic reccipt of issues of some journals but the number of complaints ha? declined.
One member suggestcd that our Society sponsor a group flight to Italy this sum-mer. The Executive Secretary*Treagurer was reluctant to take on the added burden of becoming a tra ve I agent. He suggestod that members roake use of the group and
