svolto da Garibaldi nell'America Latina. Lo scambio di notizie e di dibattiti, ha ribadito Emilia Morelli, ha posto in luce ed ha delineato nella sua autentica realtà il personaggio Garibaldi, quando ancora non era diventato un eroe, prima della nascita del mito .
A Londra si sono abbinati il centenario garibaldino e il 30 anniversario della riaper­tura dei Circolo Mazzini Garibaldi , in una cerimonia svoltasi al Café Royal il 4 dicem­bre 1982.

E stato bandito il I Premio Lunigiana storica 1984, per contributi di carattere storico, archeologico, etnogralico, linguistico e geografico per tesi di laurea e giornalismo e documentari televisivi, con scadenza al 15 aprile 1984. LENDINARA. Nei giorni 2-3 giugno u.s., ad iniziativa del Comune, si è tenuto un riuscitissimo convegno su Alberto Mario nel centenario della morte, del quale sono già sotto stampa gli Atti.

SOCIETY FOR ITAL1AN H1STORICAL STUDIES. Diamo il verbale della seduta del 20 dicembre 1982:
The Business Meeting of the Society was called to order al 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Decomber 29, 1982, in the Rockeville Room of the Sheraton Hotel in Washington. Some thirty-five members were present. The President, David Herlihy, wclcomed those present, and described the current state of the Society. The Executive Segretary-Treasurer, Alan ]. Reinerman, made his report. The Society ended 1982 with 290 members, the largest number to date. Of current members, 185 joined by paying dues, 88 by subscribing to an Italian journal, v/hile 17 both paid dues and subscrlbed, Though the Italian journals continue to lag behind iheir schedules, most do arri ve cventually. The Society will continue to offer only those journals whose publisher have given tis, in advance, a fimi price for subscrtptions for the coming year; Lhis has been necessary in order to eliminate whai had become a drain on the resourees of the Society, though il may cause some inconvenicnce to members whose favorite journal is not on our list. With regard to our "Award to the best unpublished manuscript by a younger scholar", there is both good and bad news. The good news is that we receivcd a reasonable number of entries this year, in contrast to 1981 when no manu-scripts were submitted; the bad news, that the America-ltaly Society will no longer be able to previde us with the 200 for this award. so that we will have to meet it from our own resourees.
