The report of the Award and Citation Committee was read by Raymond Grew. The Award for the Best Unpublished Manuscript was given to Caro! B. Menning for her dissertation, Una tal laudabile opera: The Monte di Pietà in Late Renaissance Florence . The Citation to a Senior Scholar was conferred upon H. Stuart Hughes.
Since no member of the Marraro Prize Committee was present, Alan J. Reinerman announced that the Society's Marraro Prize had been awarded to Roland Sarti, for his Long Live the Strong: A History of Ritrai Society in the Apennine Mountains (University, of Massachusetts, 1985).
The report of the Nominating Committee was read by its Chair, Geoffrey Symcox, who nominated Alexander Grab for the seat vacant on the Council. The nomination was unanimously approved.
Under the heading of Other Business, Edward Muir pointed out the drawbacks of having several sessions on Italian history scheduled at the sanie time at the AHA meeting. David Herlihy, who serves on a AHA committee on relations with the affiliated societies, agreed to see what could be done to prevent such duplication in the future.
The Business Meeting was dissolved at 5:45 pm. The Social Meeting followed in the Ogden Room, and continued until 7 pm. Some seventy-five members were present.

CENTRO PER LA STORIA DELLA MASSONERIA. Il giorno 14JCI.1986 nella sua sede sociale di Villa Medici del Vascello, via S. Pancrazio 8, 00152 Roma, ha avuto luogo la prima assemblea del Centro per la Storia della Massoneria. Il Centro ha fini esclusivamente scientifici. Esso sta curando l'allestimento di una Biblioteca e di un Archivio storico specializzati. Accoglie studiosi italiani e stranieri. La quota sociale è fissata in L. 15.000 per il 1987. La richiesta di adesione va inviata alla segreteria del Centro insieme con il curriculum dell'attività scientifica dell'associato.
Nel corso dell'Assemblea che comprende al momento circa 60 associati effettivi è stata eletta la Consulta per il prossimo triennio. Ne fanno parte il musicologo prof. Alberto Basso, il prof. Carlo Francovich, il prof. Franco Molinari ed Edward Stolper. Presieduta dal dott. Armando Corona, Gran Maestro del Grande Oriente d'Italia, a termini di statuto, la Consulta ha nominato il prof. Aldo A. Mola direttore del Centro. La dott. Anna Maria Isastia ne è segretaria.
11 Centro ha collaborato alla organizzazione dei convegni di Pugnochiuso su Massoneria e letteratura e di Napoli sulla Massoneria nel Regno di Napoli nel Settecento. Compartecipa altresì all'organizzazione del convegno di Cuneo, 3-4 aprile 1987, sul gen. Luigi Capello.
Agli associati il Centro distribuisce un notiziario d'informazione sulle fonti docu­mentarie reperibili, sulle pubblicazioni uscite e sulle iniziative scientifiche in corso. Il Centro opera infine in collegamento con analoghe istituzioni di altri Stati.
